Instructional League

Take a deeper dive into the world of curling.
Our Instructional League is a four-week commitment that allows participants to deepen their understanding of the sport. With instruction from experienced curlers, it’s a great introductory league for beginners and the newly-initiated. No experience required!
Many of the participants who have completed our Instructional League are well prepared to continue their curling journey in our Social League.

Frequently Asked Questions
How is the Instructional League Structured?
Each participating member will be placed on a team with a rotating coach each week. Weekly sessions will start out with fundamental skills training, and then feature a game to apply those new skills. Coaches will instruct participants regarding on-ice skills, the etiquette of the sport, and preparing participants for future play with more experienced curlers.
Do I need to purchase any equipment?
No, you do not need to purchase any equipment to join the league. Loggerhead will provide participants with brooms and sliders for their shoes. Players may choose to purchase their own shoes or brooms, but that is not a requirement to be in the Instructional League.
When and where does the Instructional League practice?
The Loggerhead Curling Club currently has ice on Sundays between 4pm and 8:45pm at Palm Beach Skate Zone (8125 Lake Worth Rd, Lake Worth, FL 33467).

What Should I Wear?

Shoes
No raised heels or flip flops. Running shoes work well as long as the soles are clean.
Pants
Pants that offer easy movement are important as you will be required to stretch and get into some curling positions. Jeans can leave cotton on the ice and should NOT be worn.
Layers
It can be cold on the ice, so we suggest dressing in layers and bringing a light jacket. Gloves and thick socks can also help.
